Episode 036 Prof Jack Gilbert
The following is a conversation with Professor Jack Gilbert, a professor at the University of California, San Diego, along with his many other very interesting titles and job roles.
This includes the co-founder of the Earth Microbiome Project, the American Gut Project, and also featured in the very popular recent Netflix documentary, Hack Your Health.
He is a master of the microbiome. We covered all aspects of the microbiome, the ocean, the soil, how it could impact climate change, and gut health, responses to drugs.
This episode was recorded in Signature Sound Studio, San Diego, which is a famous recording studio globally. When I walked in, first of all it took me a long time to get in because it's very sort of inconspicuous and stealthy, but when I got in I could see all these recording things on the wall from Blink 182, U2, I then went through to the actual recording studio where all these famous people record, so this whole setup's just been awesome, and the podcast episode with Jack was also absolutely amazing.
The team here have recorded thousands of podcasts and they said it was the most interesting one they've ever recorded, so kudos to Jack. I didn't really do anything, I just let Jack talk.
